An effect is treated like a scenery object and can be placed using the Objects button.

Re: Smoking Volcanoes
It would best be handled by placing an effect or maybe many effects at the vent point for the volcano. Someone did some work for a few around the globe and I think a search at the Avsim file library would turn them up. All I can recall is the first name of the person, Kim.

Re: FSX Water Features too High
A simple exclusion polygon will take out any offending water. But within FSX that will affect a QMID 11 size area, which you can see with that QMID grid activated. Then you can reintroduce new water, with new elevation data. That's the kicker, FSX going with water that carries elevation. You can als...

Re: Big problem during coastline creation
Once a vector based BGL file is generated there is no method to decompile the file.
You might zip up your .SBP file and attach it, so that I or someone else might take a look at what's going on.

Re: Adding WGS84 TIF from disk (Wrong image format error)
I can say that even if the image was in the correct projection/datum it would be too big for SBuilderX to handle. Here is a small tool that *may* help, I haven't tried it on BIG files; http://freegeographytools.com/2009/tritonrmp-helper-upgraded-to-version-2-0 It's pretty basic is it's use. If it ca...

Re: Maps from disk
Your picture shows that the Map has been highlighted. Working with SBuilderX requires certain steps be followed. To compile a Map or background image you must go into the Menu and choose Select | All Maps and then click the Compile button. If you are doing that, then I'd make sure that SBX has found...

Re: Maps from disk
After adding and calibrating the Map, have you used the menu Select | All Maps prior to trying to compile the file? SBuilderX can compile many things. You need to tell the program what you are trying to compile or tell it to compile Everything.

Re: bgl loading in FSX
First to Ken, when you look at the BGL file in TMFviewer what is shown as the highest LOD to display? If you make a Map (as described in SBuilderX aka photo scenery) and it is of a lower level than default texture it will not display. I want to say that LOD 13 is where default will still show. Now t...

Re: FSX Standard vs FSX Deluxe?
Hello Bob, here is a link to Wikipedia that outlines some of the differences;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_ ... xe_Edition
And for the scenery makers, the biggest difference is one has the SDKs and the other doesn't!

Re: Problem with adding BGL file
Ah, now I see what you are trying to do. When SBuilderX installs it places a compiled help file in the \Help folder. There are instructions on the importing and using of objects using the Edit | Object Lib Manager function. To summarize; append an library object file (ebbt-brasschaat.bgl), select a ...

Re: Problem with adding BGL file
SBuilderX has no method to work from an existing BGL file. That's why your screen stays white.

Re: Waves mask to get crashing waves
There is no such thing as a "wave mask". Any wave activity in FSX is done through a vector line and is tied into an effect. You could modify the effect file to extend the time that it shows, I guess?

Re: Problem when adding map
It's still early for me (second cup of coffee), but if your example .TXT file is correct I wonder if your using a comma as a numeric delimiter is causing problems reading the data? Maybe switch to the period as the delimiter and see if it works?
