Re: Help Compiling an island

When evere you start a New Project there is an area to set the folder location to save the BGL files and a tick box to make this the permanent location. Specify the full path location which includes drive letter, etc.

Re: Help Compiling an island

While \Addon Scenery\scenery may work, in FSX it doesn't always work. I'd suggest a new folder structure such as \Addon Scenery\My Work\scenery. Copy the file there, activate the My Work layer in the scenery library and go see if it shows.

Re: Help Compiling an island

Within your installation of SBuilderX is this folder; SBuilder313\Tools\Shapes Check there and see if you have a file that starts with cvx_xxxxxxx.bgl If so, copy and paste that into an active scenery folder within FSX and see if your changes appear.

Oops, was I suppose to send an email? If so, could you let me know the address by PM and I'll get the files sent over, if just for future reference.

Do you talk about the SBP file?
An .SBP file is the standard SBuilder(X) project file, whereas you can export an .SBX file, which is in plain text and easily read by Notepad, etc.

Re: Help with Sbuilder

Greets Luis, Luis and Dick, I'll look up your email and send off a copy of the SBX files, Dick. Trying to get a house up for sale by the end of the month doesn't give me a lot of time to tinker. I want to check the six problem child polys that are causing the problems, but some are large and steppin...

Re: Help with Sbuilder

I have spent a little time looking, working and dissecting Ryan's files, but not enough to get a better clue as to what's happening. Getting into the v4 (good) SBX file and the v5 (bad) SBX file I isolated the parent/child polygons. There is the one parent and 29 childs for each. Seven of the polygo...

Re: Silly question!!

To enable the undo I believe you must edit the .INI file for it to work. I've never tried it. For copy and paste to work you must first go into the "mode" for the object you want to work with. If it's a polygon you must be in Poly mode, yellow button. Then click to highlight the poly to be copied, u...

Re: Help with Sbuilder

Greets Luis, Me thinks you've hit the nail on the head. I had Ryan send over copies of the SBX and SBP files. Impressive work, something that reflects a level of passion not seen too often. I've broken out the polys (600+) from the lines (2,000+) so far. The polys by themselves won't process correct...

Only one thread is required.

Scasm would not be in use for FSX based terrain work, so discount that as a/the problem.

Re: Help with Sbuilder

The SBX file is plain text and could be opened with Notepad or a similar type editor. The structuring of the file isn't so complex to see what's going on. You would have polygon/lines being identified, a GUID being applied for what the line/polygon does and then a listing of the vertices. If you'd l...

Re: Problem with photo-textures

The menu listing for LODs sounds OK. The night textures are coming from the other scenery? And are random in nature? They don't appear when your scenery is inactive? What size is the BGL file(s) for your work? Any chance of getting a top-down picture or two showing the night texture problem? Where I...

Re: Problem with photo-textures

Since you're snooping around the INF file made by SBuilderX you will see a line in there; Variation = All This sets the display properties for the imagery, with many options listed in the SDKs. Day, Night, Dawn, Dusk are all time related in the sim. LODs or Levels of Detail have two meanings in FSX....

Re: Problem with photo-textures

Q 1. - If you have a hard edge on the blendmask, then you will see little jagged areas. A hard edge is where the colors go from pure black to pure white. A gradient effect using some gray color settings is helpful at minimizing the jaggies. It can be a small band of 3 or 4 pixels, it can be larger t...

And... which version of Windows are you using? What location did you install Sbuilder into?
