Hello John, There were about 300 default objects in FS 9 and, while it was some effort, I was able to make pictures of them all. FS X has about 2000 different objects, and Acceleration adds a few hundred more! So, it will take me a while to put together an image pack. The pictures will, as previousl...

Thanks for pointing out this potential issue, Dick. Confusion is one of the inevitable results of communication. This is what I wrote: "You would do well to pan around and obtain the images for the entire coverage of your project. Also, it will be easier to zoom in to your area, and to create custom...

John, we can all understand that you may be upset, but problems can be reported calmly and without excess emotion. As for your problem, you do not really provide enough information. Please indicate what you do that brings about this error message. So far, that has only appeared when people attempt t...

Hello Geoff,

In that thread, I added a section on blend masks and null values, and how mixing the two will give strange results (black borders, or red areas). This explanation is towards the end of the thread, and may help to explain what you are getting.

Best regards.

Hello Ron, When you compiled the image, SBuilderX made an inf file - it is in the Work folder along with the image. So: 1. make the change to the LOD parameter in that inf file; 2. make sure that a copy of Resample.exe is in the Work folder; 3. drag the inf file over Resample and drop it. Resample w...

A warning concerning the use of a Blend Mask at the same time as a Null Value when creating custom ground. The source image has areas painted pure white as a Null Value. This means that they would be transparent and display the underlying default ground textures: http://www.ptsim.com/forum/uploaded/...

A blend mask cannot be used over a Null Value. This is because the opaque part of the blend mask over the Null Value will result in red in the final custom ground. And the transparent part of the blend mask over the Null Value will give black in the final custom ground. The solution is either: 1. If...

The new FS X custom ground textures work differently from FS 9 techniques. Now, all LOD levels are included in the bgl. This saves the computer from having to calculate them at runtime, with the consequent lowering of performance. So, when compiling the bgl, it is always best to use the key, "LOD=Au...

The name is, in fact, critical.

It is the only way that SBuilderX knows this is a photo background.

Try renaming your background image Maps to "PhotoSalem1-01", etc.

And please read the post in this forum on creating custom ground textures.

Best regards.

Olá Artur,

Why don't you give it a try and see? I cannot tell the difference, but perhaps someone who has more experience with image analysis will see it.

Best regards.

Resample accepts a limited number of image formats. Here is some information from Adam Szofran, developer in charge of terrain at Aces: geotiff and alpha channels Photoshop can add an arbitrary number of alpha channels to TIFF images, but of course it strips out the GeoTIFF tags which isn'...

The Manifold tiles and the SBuilder X tiles are exactly the same, except for the way they are named.

I shall present a small and simple utility that renames Manifold tiles for use with SBuilder X as soon as possible.

Best regards.
