Making custom ground textures
SBuilder X will create custom ground directly from the background image. There are different methods: 1. A quick and simple method - SBuilder X will take the images in the present workspace and automatically convert them into a custom ground bgl. The SBuilder X workspace is 1792 x 1280 pixels in siz...

New Tile Server function
SBuilder X no longer needs to obtain background images by using the Manifold tool bar. There is a tile server function integrated directly into SBuilder X. SBuilder itself will not access any particular tile server, however, without the use of specific server dlls, as outlined by Luis Sá in this for...

SBuilder does not exclude airports. This version of SBuilder only modifies terrain elements, that is to say, among other things, the grass skirting (airport bounds) underlying the airport. By drawing an exclusion polygon, this can be removed, and another new one can be drawn to replace it. This is n...

Hello Andrew, The type of texture displayed by an Airport Bounds mask will depend on the underlying land class value. It will not always be green grass. Please see: <b>Terrain Design for Flight Simulator X</b> in the Avsim library: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fsxsd&DLID=100997 for mor...

Hello Paul, You could solve this problem by setting all your new scenery elements - terrain and airport - to the default elevation of 83.82 meters. Otherwise, FS will always read the default elevation from the APX file and modify your new terrain accordingly. In addition, since the default elevation...

This is probably not a problem with flattens at all. Please remember that the airport file itself has elevation information - the runways, airport reference point, and start points have altitudes associated with them. And these elevation values will modify the underlying terrain, raising or lowering...

You are probably not doing anything wrong, Joe. If you are using the generic FS X shorelines, then they are not very wide, and perhaps that is why you do not see them very well. You can try using the FS 9 shorelines if you have installed the modified terrain.cfg file that Dick Ludowise and I put tog...

Hello Iain, Very sorry if I misunderstood your comments. As I mentioned in that document: IMPORTANT: Please remember that if you have installed the FSX_modified_terrain_cfg.zip, and created terrain with some of the additional terrain features in that file that are not available in the default terrai...

Hello Iain, All the shorelines will work correctly. Here is a test of a few of them: http://www.ptsim.com/forum/uploaded/luisfeliztirado/200751882954_sbuilderx_shorelines_test.JPG As can be seen, they display without problem. Flight Simulator X only has 6 default shorelines: - Shorelines Default - S...

Are you trying to use one of the old FS 9 shorelines, Dick? And, if so, have you installed the modified terrain.cfg file that Dick Ludowise and I put together? Because that is the only way to get them to display. The SBuilder installer should probably include a readme file with this, and other, info...
