Hello Luis, I had thought of adding the texture references to the polys and line txt files, but the problem is the regional variations. The texture that might be used in the U.S. is not the same as might be used in Europe (which has multiple different regions now), or in the rest of the world, or wh...

Hello Garry, The bridge entries should still be there - numbers 1213 through 1270 at the bottom of the list. If you still get the other line entries, then the bridges are there. Make sure that there are only 2 points in a line used to define a bridge. They do work fine, as you saw, but if the altitu...

On the contrary, it seems clear that the SBuilder help file is one of the best and most comprehensive that I have ever seen, certainly the best of any free program in our FS world. Plus there are a slew of tutorials floating around by very knowledgeable users like Jon and Scott. It is unfortunate th...

Thanks very much, Dick. It did not even occur to me that somebody would not have the modified terrain.cfg installed. It is something to keep in mind.

Best regards.

Hello Gregg,

Looks like the airport elevation and the flatten elevation do not correspond.

You may have to redo your flatten to change the elevation.

Best regards.

Hello Luis, I certainly understand your reluctance to adapt your program to this modified file. Obviously, if you don't feel comfortable with the idea, then you shouldn't do it. That is the best thing. Perhaps with time, you will come to find the idea more acceptable. On the other hand, your market ...

Hi guys, I have just placed the revised terrain.cfg in the Avsim library, and it should show up tomorrow. You may want to take a look at it, Luis, and it can also be found in the beta newsgroup in Dick's post, "Important addition needed to the default terrain.cfg". The modifications are not particul...

Hello Joe, Please open the "objects.txt" file, where you will find entries such as the following: include=obj_Edge_lights.txt include=obj_Orthmann_ships.txt include=obj_Oshkosh_objects.txt include=obj_tracks_stadiums.txt include=obj_Lars_ExtraObjects.txt etc. Just add your own include line with the ...

Hello Peter, Instead of Shift, please try the Control key. I don't remember if you must be in Line/Polygon mode when doing this (although I just moved an entire HP file just 2 days ago!), but it seems to me that I selected with a Ctrl-marquee and then moved them all while pressing the Control key. I...

Hello Luis, If it would not be too much trouble, would you consider adding support for all of Tom Hiscox' API macro headers, e.g.: ;designshape [x1],[y1],[x2],[y2],[x3],[y3],[x4],[y4],...,[x12],[y12] Also, I have included a land class texture value in the lands.txt file; for example, I wanted to pla...

Hello Don, There are bound to be different methods for placing objects. When placing fences, I use the Measuring tool that makes it all a snap. First, enter Object mode. Then, toggle the Measuring tool on (by pressing the "M" key.) Click on the spot where you would like to start the fence. This turn...

Do you know, Scott, I think that you already have come up with one. Since the start, I have not been keen on distribution of modified default files, such as the HP or others. Generally, this is bound to cause problems, and every week we see some poor user who does not understand why he has square co...

Thank you very much, Scott. That is, in fact, Dick's solution from over a year ago, as referenced in the above-mentioned thread.

Hello Ken, My apologies. Often, what seems simple and apparent to us is not so for others. To better resume those referenced threads, elevation is defined in 3 different places: 1. the altitude mesh that determines the base elevation for the terrain; 2. a FL (flatten) file that levels the airport gr...
