Joining Lines

Hello! Newbie to SBuilder, first post. I used AFW way back with FS2002 but have not done much scenery design since FS9 (and xml coding) appeared. I am working my way through your excellent 'Help' folder. Sadly, I seem to have fallen at the first hurdle. I cannot make lines join. Using the line tool I can approximate the end of one line very accurately over the start of another and they seem to join. But when I select they still remain two separate lines. I've managed all the rest of the stuff in this part of the folder but line joins would seem to be an important thing to get right. Thanks.
