Madeira Islands and FS2004

Post by Bodo Muelelr » Sat Jul 26, 2003 10:12 pm

Dear Sirs,

It appears that the Madeira Scenery does not work in FS2004. Will you offer a patch for the scenery package soon?

Best Regards,
Bodo Mueller

Dear Bodo and all Madeira Islands users,

We will start working on making Madeira Islands compatible with FS2004 now as we had no access to the sim before its release.

Please do not answer to this topic. Please wait for me to post here again when a patch is ready! If you want to discuss this matter just start a new topic!

Therefore I suggest that you subscribe this topic (see the the bottom of the page) if you want to be notified by email when the patch is available.

Regards, Luis

...Except that you cannot subscribe, unless you post a reply.
Well, then I'll use this post to say: What a great product!

Yes, I think so too. I hope the time to wait for the update will be not so long.

Dear Madeira Islands users,

The patch to make Madeira Islands compatible with FS2004 is available at:

http://www.ptsim.com/mad_p0/mad2k2.asp

When Microsoft releases technical information about the new AFD file format we will issue a final patch that will make Madeira Islands 100% compatible with FS2004.

Thank you for using Madeira Islands,

Luis Sá

Hallo,

few minutes ago I installed the FS2004 patch. At the end of the installation procedure there appears an error "Runtime Error 53 - File not found", but it seems so the installation has been completed.
I installed the patch just like the readme-file described.

Hello,

Please check if:

a) file FS9.CFG has ...vertex=21

b) the Madeira Tutorials starting flights have been copied into your
Flight Simulator Files

These are the more probable cause of the error that you describe.

Hallo,

thanks for your answer, but I have solved the problem.
I've deleted a readme-file but it seems that all readme-files in all languages are needed to run the installation procedure successfuly.

Thanks again,
Patric

Hello Ed,

I saw your shots in AVSIM and I noticed this artifact! I tried to email you but for some reason, I could not!

You need to change FS9.CFG! The following is from Readme:

<b>
Point 3==========
If the SETUP programme cannot modify the file FS9.CFG, then the following
message should appear: "You need to change the file FS9.CFG!". For example
the file can be hidden, can have the attribute of "read only" or it can just
have been moved away from its correct location. This file can be normally
found in this folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9

You need to modify the following line in the [TERRAIN] section of FS9.CFG
to read:

TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=21</b>

Also note that changing the display settings from "Customs" can bring the parameter back to its default of ...VERTEX=19 ! See the PDF manual for this matter!

Here is a shot for the same region:

If this does not solve the problem please come back!

Product Code?

I was very happy when I heard, that your great LPMA Scenery was FS2004 compatible.
But the "download side" ask after a "product code".

What the hell is the product code?

I have my personal code, the password but no product code!

What should I do?

Thanks

Jan
