Maderia scenery makes Fs2004 crash to desktop

I have got the following problem with the Madeira scenery
for Fs2004:

Whenever I create a flight and select Madeira as origin airport,
the scenery is loading well.

But when I try to make a flight to Madeira, and the scenery has to be loaded during the flight, FS2004 always crashes to the desktop when coming near. There isn#180;t even an error message!

Any Suggestions?

My System:
P4, 2.53 Ghz, 1 GB Ram, Radeon 9700, Win XP

Hello all Madeira Islands users:

We are very sorry to tell you that we did not include a bitmap file in distribution ZIPs after August 8th. We will correct this on the upcoming final patch for FS2004 in the next few days.

That missing file caused FS to crash in Porto Santo when "Season of the Year" is winter or fall. You can download the file and place it in:

...\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Scenery\World\texture

The file is this one:

http://www.ptsim.com/downloads/012121110322333Wi.zip

We are very sorry for the inconvenience,

Luis

Hello Luis!

* Loading FS9 w/ Madeira during Spring/Summer - Okay.

* Loading FS9 w/ Madeira during Fall/Winter - Crashes... Reports error in g2d.dll module and closes.

* Loading FS9 w/o Madeira during Fall/Winter - Okay.

I tried the texture patch file available in this topic without any success loading FS with Madeira during Fall/Winter.

Hello Scott,

Thank you for the repport! We are carrying out extensive tests before releasing the final version of Madeira for FS9.

Regarding the crash in Fall/Winter, I am 99% sure that it is caused by the missing texture! You CAN NOT OPEN the texture as its special FS format will be destroyed when you save it. You should extract the file directly to the referred to folder.

Regards, Luis

Okay well... I'll try that again.

If I rename this file madvtp.bgl to madvtp.bg$ then FS runs just fine in any season. This file is located in the Landclass Scenery folder of the Madeira folder.

Hi Scott,

Yes indeed! madvtp.bgl seeks for 012121110322333Wi.bmp texture and that texture is missing! Your observation makes me almost completely sure that the problem is the missing texture. Please check if it exists!

Thanks, Luis

Okay I'll try yet again.... Even with the madvtp.bgl file disabled, I received an error but...

I take the zip file and drag the bmp file directly into the FS9\Scenery\World\Texture Folder.... I'll keep testing.

Thanks
