Re: ATTN SBuilderX 64 and Win10 Workaround

Hi, sorry, I didn't see the reply until now. You have to declare a "home network" on your host and obtain a joining code, and make the VM join that network with the given code. It then will see the host and the paths / drives you opened for network access. That should take care of the acessability o...

ATTN SBuilderX 64 and Win10 Workaround

Hi, I guess it is well known in the meanwhile that SBX 64 does not work correctly when you run it under Win 10 due to an incompatibility with the shapelib.dll. SBX 64 can't compile CVX data, throwing an error. Tom Stovall and I had the idea to run it in a virtual Win7-64 machine under Win 10 Profess...

Re: Retaining FSX SDK Paths

I also would like to switch to Win10, but the problems mentioned keep me from doing so and I don't want to run a second PC or a dual mode installation just for scenery creation / executing SBX. I wonder if running a win7 installation in a VM under win10 (e.g. Hyper-V or https://www.virtualbox.org/ )...

Re: ESRI Shape files not happening

Just for the record and the search engine, to round this up. Unique shapes / lines need different names in SBX, otherwise there will be problems with assigned properties. I imported a couple of islands via the BLN format and ESRI some time ago, and after the usual hydro poly / exclude water / hole a...

Re: Prepar3d V2

I use SBX 64 with P3D 3.1 in the moment, also in the connected mode (show/move airplane), which is seldom though because I use other references. Remember, you need either FSUIPC and/or Simconnect to establish a connection between SBX and the sim. Simconnect is not installed automatically in the newe...

Re: Prepar3d V2

Did you try to make a copy of p3d.exe and rename it to fsx.exe (or copy the original fsx.exe - if you have it ) to the p3d root directory? That's an old trick that works for many fsx addons which expect the exe file in that directory.

Re: Problem with compiling BGL

Glad it works now :-) I usually give the maps individual names and changing the map name is so automatic that this didn't occur to me :-)

Did you "Select all maps" before compiling?

Re: Automated use of SBuilderX via external scripting

Hi, thanks for your notice. Sorry to hear about the legal quirks. Not sure about the google policies, I don't understand that legal problem entirely, I must confess. There are other applications that also work in a similar way or can read or capture the GE tiles. The other issue is that you can do t...

Re: Prepar3d V2

Hi, where did you install SBX? It is possible that this is a user access control problem. I install everything related to the sim or development on a dedicated hdd, but you also could choose a new fold in the root dir of C:\, but not under the UAC controlled \programs\ or \programs(x86)\ structures....

Hi Gopal,

did you manage to continue with your brilliant (if I may add) idea? Sounds really good, a very interesting idea.

Background image downloads ---> SBX updates !

Dick (Rhumbaflappy) regularly uploads new ddl's that help to establish the connections to the various download servers. I see quite a few posts here that probably relate to older dlls being used. Dick's new versions can be found here (check version and date): http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads...

Re: Prepar3d V2

Hi, I also develop exclusively for P3D V2.2 and can confirm that everything I tested works. There's on little limitation though which might be adressed in an update later: scenery objects that are compiled with the p3d v.2.2 xtomdl, either directly via 3dsmax or with Arno Gerretens ModelconverterX c...

Re: Really stupid question - adding points to/joining polys

Don't know for polys, but lines can be joined unwantedly with the parameter set when the two disjunct vertices are are close to each other and the lines have the same name - if I recall right!

Re: SBuilderX V X ?

Hi Dick, thanks for your answer. I already split the projects into chunks, which also has functional and organisational advantages, but memory corruptions are still bound to happen. I also versionize my projects so I can fall back to a earlier version in case of an error. Oh well... But I agree tota...
