SBuilderX V X ?
Hi, hoping not to step on anyones toes, but is there any chance on a V2 version of SBX? I really love that tool and enjoy working with it for years now, but it seems that I run more and more into problems, expecially memory problems with larger projects. I think the functionality is great and it's a...

KML2SBX - new SbuilderX frontend
Hi, I wrote a small application that directly converts a KML source into a SBX file which can be imported into SbuilderX. It is ideal for working with a well known tool which shall go un-named. Trace islands, lakes, rivers, streets, coastlines and what not, save it as KML, run it through KML2SBX, im...

Re: KML2SBX - developing a new tool
Just for the record, I guess this is only relevant for the display of the object in SBX. We'll code it this way, and see what happens...

Re: Change color of water
You might want to place water class tile like
12_Outflow Water, brown
in that area.

Re: undo in ver 313 and extra points
[...] The auto-backup feature uses lots of memory in large projects. [...] I've had several crashes and corrupted project files (!!) on larger islands with (and later without, as the project grew) this feature activated, so I'd be careful with this function. If you do need it, you'll be well advise...

KML2SBX - developing a new tool
Hi, I work together with a friend on a simple freeware tool that converts KML vector lines from Google Earth into the SBX (or maybe SHP) format. In order to understand the header of a SBX file I would like to ask if the following parameters are documented somewhere a little bit more in depth (please...

Re: Tutorial on how to import Geotiffs into FSX using SBuild
I guess you want to add a custom mesh - if so, I'd use the resample tool from the FSX SDK for that. It's quite easy to use. You might want to check this: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc707102.aspx#TheResampleTool You need to write an .inf file for each tile you want to resample into a bgl...

Re: Out of memory
I also had severe memory problems before (overload on vertices on coastlines) and solved this by breaking the projects down in separate work units.
Worked like a charm then!

Mark

Re: Arithmetic error / project corrupt
Hi Luis, thanks for your help. No, I have not solved the problem, but it had a "therapeutical" effect on my project. I had to roll back to 14 days old version, but now I structured it nicely so that an error in one part does not affect the whole structure. I also alternate between 2 versions per fil...

Re: Arithmetic error / project corrupt
I found an error-report from SBX for this event in the work-directory: Error Report created by SBuilderX on 18.04.2010 22:28:27 Die arithmetische Operation hat einen Überlauf verursacht. System.OverflowException: Die arithmetische Operation hat einen Überlauf verursacht. bei SBuilderX.moduleLINES.Di...

Re: Arithmetic error / project corrupt
Just as an addition, I thought I can roll back to a version I had compiled to a BGL the night before. It works perfectly in FSX. But when I import that bgl file into a new project in SBX, nothing shows up. Is there something noteworthy that I missed doing that? Sorry, but I have a cause of "kernel p...

Re: Coastline design - better approach?
Hi, first of all, Luis, please accept my apologies, because it is apparent that I didn't read the manual thoroughly. Well, when I did so I found a revolutionary (for my work 8) ) approach to costline design that literally saves me half the time, by completly omitting the task of retracing a coast fo...

Arithmetic error / project corrupt
Hi, today evening desaster struck. I was happily tracing coastlines and building islands, when all over sudden SBuilderX stopped with an error. It occured when I inserted a vertex point into a line and the following german error message translates to "An arithmetic operation caused a buffer overflow...

Coastline design - better approach?
Hi everybody, first of all, I want to thank Luis for all the work he put into SBuilderX, I really like it and the more I use it the more I am in awe of its capabilities. Right now I redesign the the Solomon islands with it and "regress" them and their airfields to what they looked like towards the e...
