Photoreal from older sat in GE

Post by Claviateur » Thu Mar 27, 2014 2:48 am

Hi

Let's say the area / sat image I am trying to create a photoreal map with in SBX using Google background looks better in terms of lighting and quality if I go back in time in Google Earth and point to 2009 historical images for example.

Is there a way to point to that 2009 version in with the Tile Server plugin? I know for now the plugins enable the actual maps available but is there a way to use a historical imagery as in Google Earth for the background map creation?

Thanks

Hi Claviateur.

The tiles are gathered from Google Maps, not Google Earth. We have no way of controlling which tiles we get.

Some users are able to get earlier images by using an earlier version of the DLL. Google has recently changed the way we can access the tiles, so it's possible an earlier DLL may not even work... but it's worth a try.
