Could you please provide a detailed explanation of what you wish to accomplish and how you went about it in SBuilderX? It would also be helpful if your image were annotated and indicated the problem areas.

Best regards.

I made the blend layer and the water layer compiled that then put into the sim. Then I made polygons and make them the preset LC_Coniferous_Forest. Then compile that and get a cvx file and put that into the sim. As you can see i get the background for the trees but not the autogen trees sticking out of the ground.

Thank you for the detailed images.

Was the original (default) airport larger than your modification? All airport backgrounds exclude autogen in order to avoid trees and buildings on the runway.

When you create a new airport, you must first remove (exclude) the default airport background so that it does not block autogen the way you indicate.

In your description of the steps you followed, you did not mention excluding default polys first. Did you do this by any chance?

Best regards.

For the new project the new airport is larger than the default one. default image: http://i.imgur.com/ERCuAXN.jpg

These steps are coming from a video series I am watching.
Here are all the steps I took:
Got background image
went to Photoshop and a blend layer and a water layer
went back to sbuilder and compliled it and put it into the sim and got a base satellite image
Went back to Photoshop and blacked out all the trees and added to the blend layer
Then compiled the that into the sim- http://i.imgur.com/ZiF9q8n.jpg
then made the polys which includes-LC_Coniferous forest dark green, AB_Flatten Light green,
and Exclude_All_Airport_Boundaries brown- http://i.imgur.com/ce3aLWX.png

From my steps it sounds like i didn't do it and I am wondering which step it is. Also can I go back and fix it or do I need to restart my project and how do you do it because I am a newbie to making scenery?

On the contrary, you seem to have done everything correctly.

Perhaps your new airport is not on the same location as the default, and the exclusion poly does not cover the old airport background. In which case it would still be active and prevent autogen from displaying.

But, if your exclusion does remove the default airport background, then perhaps the problem is with the Blend Mask. These are a little tricky since custom ground will prevent autogen from displaying. The only way to add autogen back to custom ground is with the Autogen Annotator.

However, you have added a Parks (Forest) poly back on top of your airport. Please note that, first, Parks polys will never display over custom ground; the photo-real textures always take precedence. So, if that poly is meant to cover your custom textures, it is not displaying in game. You may instead be seeing the default land class through the transparent areas of the Blend Mask, but without its autogen that is removed by the custom ground.

As you can see, there are at least a few possible explanations. It is difficult for me to tell, so please look carefully at the layout of your project and report the findings back here.

There is always a simple solution to these small problems, so please do not despair. :D

Best regards.

found out the problem

The blend layer was not the right shade of black so I redid the blend layer and poof it works

Photo-real ground prevents the autogen of the underlying land class from displaying.

A Blend Mask adds a small complication: the opaque and partially transparent areas block autogen, and only the totally transparent parts (completely black, RGB=0,0,0) will allow the land class and its autogen to display.
