How to create photo realistic scenery with a night view.

Post by jgplarnold » Sat Nov 12, 2016 8:48 am

I have successfully created a photo realistic scenery file (.bgl) using Google Earth satellite imagery.
This shows nicely in FSX but only when the fsx 'time' is set to day. When I change to 'night' the photo realistic scenery is as bright as day.
I assume that I need to edit the (.bmp) image to darken it for a night 'view' (no problems I have Paint Shop Pro) and I think I need to save that darkened image with the same filename with _N added to it but HOW do I compile the scenery file with both (.bmp) images?
Thanks

You must go to the Properties page of your Map where you can indicate the locations of all your seasonal and night variants.

You can find this information both in the Help file as well as the photo-real tutorial. Please do read them as I had to put a lot of effort and time into making them for the benefit of all users such as yourself.

Best regards.
Luis
