graphic troubles with madeira in fs 2004

dear ptsim team;

i just bought wonderful madeira 2004 @aersofts shop and unfortunately i´m expiriencing some problems, maybe you can help me..

i got 2 big problems, one of them is maybe because i´m using alternative water textures ('morewatr.zip', still trying to fix this on my own)

the other problem is that something seems to cover the scenery itself, i got "green triangels" on the runway and no taxiways, textures are missing at the end of the runway, there is a bridge standing along the coast without any mountains surrounding it, etc...

i already edited my fs9.cfg to TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=21 and now i´m giving it a try with "20"...

maybe you can help me with my little problem

btw. im using madeira 3.01, fs 2004 and this is the first add-on in the european area i´m using (in us i´m using mega-scenery)

after reinstalling (and first renaming my old fs9.cfg) the problem with the coast seems to be solved, but the airport has completely gone.. like in the other thread...:

Is it possible that this problem is related with the different pathes that the aerosoft installer is using?

the scenery is installed at:

../aerosoft/Wonderful Madeira/

in this folder, there is a "Madland" Folder, a "Scenery" Folder and a "Texture" Folder and a "scenery.dat"-file and the madeira chart...

the three files from the "files3.zip" are already in the "scenery" folder from "wonderful madeira"

Hello Pinky,

We are glad to help. There was a problem with "Wonderful Madeira". I assume that the version you get is the correct one. I tested the install of "Wonderful Madeira" both in FS2004 and FS2002 and everything was fine! You must remember that the install is very complicated as there are files that go some folders and others that go to other folders.

Here is a list of tasks done by the PTSIM installer. I know Aerosoft is different but this could give you some ideas:

Creates the structure of folders to install the scenery
Makes a backup of ..\Flight Simulator 9\scenery.cfg
Adds 2 scenery areas to ..\Flight Simulator 9\scenery.cfg called:
Madeira Islands by PTSIM
Madeira LandClasses by PTSIM
Makes backups of the following files (changing the extension to PTS):
..\Flight Simulator 9\SCENERY\Afri\Scenery\AP943200.BGL
..\Flight Simulator 9\SCENERY\Afri\Scenery\AB943200.BGL
..\Flight Simulator 9\SCENERY\Afri\Scenery\FL943200.BGL
..\Flight Simulator 9\SCENERY\Afri\Scenery\HL943200.BGL
..\Flight Simulator 9\SCENERY\Afri\Scenery\HP943200.BGL
..\Flight Simulator 9\SCENERY\Afri\Scenery\UT943200.BGL

Copies files from BMP2 to ..\Flight Simulator 9\SCENERY\WORLD\TEXTURE
Copies 4 files from OTHER to ..\Flight Simulator Files
Moves file afd_mad.bgl from ..\MAD2003\SCENERY to ..\SCENERY\Afri\Scenery
Copy ReadMe License and PDFs files into ..\MAD2003
Changes a line in FS9.CFG (TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=20)

dear luis;

thank you for your answer, i´ll answer as soon as possible...

because i´m trying to install the scenery now for the third time, the installer wants to contact some site to ask me a question

and that doesnt work, it keeps telling me "online registration - please wait"... dumdidum

let´s see whats happening next

i´m pretty sure i´ll get this piece of software working, some day

again, everything was my fault...

i made a really stupid error that i didn´t realize until now - my fs9 was not shut down when installing first time..

i now edited the scenery.cfg manually (swapping the madeira entries) and everything is working fine.

i´m sorry for wasting your time
